ROCKY MOUNT, NC -- Maitland, Phillips score three in decisive victory against North Carolina Wesleyan.
The final score of 14-1 against the North Carolina Wesleyan Battling Bishops tells the story of a one-sided lacrosse game.
The scoring started early with Lily Uhl finding the net in the first quarter, followed by goals from Analisa Aragon and Maitland Luksan. NC Wesleyan's Lailah Espinal scored the lone point for the Battling Bishops. The second quarter saw more of the same with Uhl and Luksan adding another goal each, while Maddie Swanson also got on the scoresheet.
The third quarter brought more Piper success, with Rachel Fussy scoring on Courtney Parker's second assist of the game, and Nicole Phillips getting the next two goals to go. Luksan and Phillips added another goal each to round out the 3rd quarter, extending the lead to a commanding 11-1.
Analisa Aragon, Aoi Suzuki, and Sophia Warner all found the net in the final frame to seal the decisive victory, winning the contest 14-1.
