SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University women's lacrosse team let a 7-3 halftime lead go by the wayside, as Maya DeGeorge capped her six-goal outing with a free-position tally at 2:13 of overtime that propelled Beloit to a 12-11 OT victory.
The Pipers fall to 5-3, while the Buccaneers improve to 4-3.
Beloit 12, Hamline 11 OT
The first half resulted in a slim 13-12 shots advantage for Hamline, but it gave them a 7-3 lead thanks to three goals from Aoi Suzuki.
The Buccaneers didn't grab their first lead of the game until 9:45 remained in the fourth quarter, when Cassidy Felix proceeded to score back-to-back player-up goals. Her second tally capped a Beloit 5-0 run, and pushed their lead to 11-9 with 8:03 left in the fourth. Courtney Parker knotted the game at 11-11 with goals scored with 6:44 on the clock, and 2:16 remaining before both teams took that score into overtime.

Seven player-up goals were scored in the contest, six coming from Beloit and two each from DeGeorge and Felix. A total 16 infraction were called in the contest, eight green cards and eight yellow cards.Â
Suzuki netted three goals for the Pipers, while Maitland Luksan and Courtney Parker each had two. Kendra Haselow led the way with seven draw controls and four ground balls.
DeGeorge also had six draw controls in the contest for Beloit.Â
Hamline outshot Beloit 33-26. Luksan accounted for 33 percent of the Pipers' shots with 11. Hamline also had the upper hand in draw controls 14-10, and ground balls 22-20
Justine Case made seven saves in net for the Pipers, while Jeddeloh Sofia stopped 14 shots for the Bucs.
The Pipers will open MWLC play at Cornell in Mount Vernon, Iowa on Sunday, April 7 at 1 p.m.
