SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Hamline University women's lacrosse team cruised to a 14-5 victory over Augsburg in their Sixth Annual Pride Game at Klas Field on Saturday afternoon.
The Pipers improve to 7-6, 1-2 MLC, while the Auggies fall to 2-12, 0-4 MLC.
Hamline 14, Augsburg 5
The driver's seat from start-to-finish belonged to Hamline, who had the upper hand over Augsburg in shots 41-14, ground balls 21-16, and draw controls 18-5 while posting a perfect 13-of-13 mark in clears.
Avery Wilson, who also had three ground balls, was all over the stat sheet for the Pipers with four goals and two assists for six points on a team-leading nine shots. All four of Courtney Parker's shots resulted in goals to go with two draw controls and one caused turnover. Rounding out the multi goal scoring Pipers was Rachel Fussy, who had two goals and one assist. Analisa Aragon had a team-leading three assists to go with one goal.Â
Maddie Swanson and Kendra Haselow accounted for 13-of-18 won clears for Hamline. Swanson's team-leading seven draw controls highlighted a stat line that also included an assist and two ground balls, while Haselow's six draw controls came with one caused turnover and one ground ball. Lily Uhl's two caused turnovers led Hamline in that category.Â
A nearly perfect game was had by Nicole Phillips, who didn't the ball over and contributed one goal, one assist, two draw controls, one ground ball, and one caused turnover.Â
Pipers goalie Justine Case stopped five shots in a complete-game win. Nicole Schuster made 18 saves in net for the Auggies.
The Pipers will make the short trip to UW-River Falls on Monday, April 22 for a 6 p.m. game.Â
