SAINT JOSEPH, MINN.—The No. 4 seed Hamline University women's lacrosse team's 2024 season ended in the Midwest Lacrosse Tournament Semifinal, where they dropped a 19-9 decision to No. 1 seed Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota on Wednesday evening.
The Pipers conclude their campaign with a 9-9 record while the Bennies improve to 9-4 and advance to the 2024 MLC Tournament Championship Game against No. 2 seed Lake Forest on Saturday, May 4.
Saint Benedict 19, Hamline 9
The driver's seat from start-to-finish belonged to the Bennies, who out shot Hamline 35-31 in the contest. The difference maker was Saint Benedict goalie Chloe Lewis, who finished with 18 saves.
All four of Hamline's player-up opportunities resulted in a goal, three belonged to Courtney Parker while Analisa Aragon netted one. The duo each finished with three goals and one assist. Parker added a team-leading six draw controls. Kendra Haselow paced Hamline with three ground balls. Avery Wilson added two goals and one assist for the Pipers.
Sami Hackley and Emma Halweg each notched four goals and one assist for the Bennies, while Emma Osland added five goals.Â
Hamline finished with the upper hand in ground balls 16-11.
Lola Brouwer notched three saves over 30:00 before Justine Case stopped six shots in the final 30:00.
The Pipers say goodbye to eight seniors in Maitland Luksan, Maddie Swanson, Kendra Haselow, Emma Moe, Analisa Aragon, Hope Tschida, Lily Uhl, and Justine Case.
