ST. PAUL, Minn. — Hamline was defeated 1-0 by the College of Saint Benedict at Paterson Field, despite a strong performance from the Pipers' goalkeeper with 12 saves.
The match began with the Pipers hosting Saint Benedict. Early in the game, Hamline's goalkeeper
Isabella Jensen made key saves against shots from Gabby Fernholz and Addison Stephani. In the 10th minute, Laila Totushek scored for Saint Benedict, giving them a 1-0 lead. Despite the Pipers' attempts to equalize, including a shot from
Neva Woodson that went wide, the Bennies maintained their pressure with multiple shots on goal. Jensen continued to be a pivotal player for the Pipers, making several saves to keep the scoreline close as the first half concluded with Saint Benedict leading 1-0.
The second half commenced with Saint Benedict maintaining offensive pressure, as Addison Stephani took multiple shots early on, including two attempts in the 47th minute. Hamline's defense responded with goalkeeper Jensen making several key saves, including a stop against Regan Melz in the 60th minute. The half ended scoreless, with the Bennies holding onto their first-half lead to secure a 1-0 victory.
Jensen played a pivotal role with 12 saves, facing a total of 26 shots in the match.
Ellie Nhean contributed to the offensive efforts with one shot taken.
