DECATUR, ILL.--The Hamline University baseball team fell to Coe 10-0 (8 innings) at the Workman Baseball Stadium in Decatur, Illinois on Sunday.
The Pipers fall to 2-6, while the Kohwaks improve to 2-1.

In the second inning, the Kohawks took a significant lead by scoring five runs. Eli Elsbecker started the rally with a single, followed by Ryan Thoreson's double that brought in Elsbecker for the first run. Austin Gomez further extended the lead with a double down the left-field line, bringing in two more runs. Jake Brosius capped the inning with a single to center, driving in two additional runs, making the score 5-0 in favor of Coe.
The fourth inning saw Coe increasing their lead with two more runs. Mitchell Eckardt's single was followed by Jon Wille's triple down the right-field line, scoring Eckardt. Jake Brosius then singled to right, bringing Wille home and pushing the score to 7-0.
In the sixth inning, the Kohawks added another run to their tally. Ryan Thoreson tripled to right field and was driven home by Jack Allison's single through the left side. This sequence brought the score to 9-0, continuing Coe's steady offensive performance.
The eighth inning concluded Coe's scoring with a final run. Austin Gomez doubled to left center, allowing Jack Allison, who had reached base on a hit by pitch, to score. This brought the final score to 10-0, with Coe tallying a total of 15 hits across the game.
Tyler Johnson stood out with a stolen base and contributed defensively with two assists and eight putouts at first base for the Pipers.
Carter Hoff pitched for one inning, allowing two hits and one earned run.
Jacob Hasapopoulos made an impact drawing a walk in his only plate appearance.
Conor Mestemacher pitched four innings, allowing seven earned runs on 10 hits, including three doubles and a triple, while striking out four and walking one.
Carter Hoff contributed one inning, yielding one earned run on two hits.
Sabastian Teague also pitched one inning, surrendering one earned run on two hits.
Teagan Yotter finished the game with 1 2/3 innings, allowing one earned run on one hit and one walk, and striking out three batters.
Austin Gomez showed exceptional offensive prowess, hitting three doubles and driving in three runs. Jake Brosius excelled in base running with three stolen bases and also led the team in RBIs with three. Ryan Thoreson was a key offensive force with two doubles, one triple, three hits, and one RBI. On the mound, Caden Richards pitched five innings without allowing a hit or earned run, collecting three strikeouts and securing a win. Evan Bender and CJ Johnson came in relief to finish the combined no hitter.
The Pipers will face North Central (Minn.) at US Bank Stadium on Tuesday, March 11 at 9:30 p.m.
