Hamline Swim & Dive Shows Great Times Piper Red Invite

SAINT PAUL, Minn. — The Hamline men's and women's swim and dive teams put together a strong all-around performance at the Piper Red Invite, highlighted by depth across events and continued season-long improvement. The Pipers combined for 31 season bests, including 12 lifetime bests, underscoring a productive day of racing and progress.

On the diving boards, Kevin Bossou delivered a standout performance, posting scores of 453.30 on the 1-meter and 438.00 on the 3-meter. His 1-meter performance marked his first Zones qualifying cut, putting him one step closer to full qualification. On the women's side, Audri Freese completed her first full 3-meter dive list, earning a lifetime best score of 235.95 to officially qualify for the conference championships, while also recording a lifetime-best 233.55 on 1-meter.

In the pool, Hamline saw strong swims across all distances. Cori Dawson turned in a lifetime-best 6:18.76 in the 500 free, while Gavin Karpe picked up wins in the men's freestyle events, touching in 2:03.15 in the 200 free and 5:27.11 in the 500 free. Andy DeClue (2:10.01) and Brooke Frederick (2:30.01) also recorded season-best performances in the 200 free.
Butterfly events were another bright spot, led by Ryann Hopp, who posted season-best times in the 50 fly (29.65), 100 fly (1:04.65), and 200 fly (2:35.65). Jackson Ling added season bests in the sprints, including 24.18 in the 50 free, 52.67 in the 100 free, and 58.22 in the 100 fly.

Distance racing saw key improvements from Minerva Uribe-Cardenas and Evan Poeschel, while Gus Shaffer recorded lifetime bests in both the 50 breast (32.05) and 100 breast (1:08.92). Bella Stadheim added a lifetime-best 2:57.78 in the 200 fly, and Katarina Kocher logged a lifetime-best 2:47.63 in the 200 back.

With wins in both the men's and women's team standings, the meet showcased Hamline's depth, consistency, and momentum as the season continues toward championship competition.
