Jeffrey DeGree

Jeff DeGree is in his second year as a member of the Hamline University men's hockey coaching staff in 2023-24.  He returns to the MIAC after coaching last year at Minnehaha Academy.
  
DeGree’s previous college coaching experience includes three seasons as an assistant at St. Olaf College, and two seasons as the head coach at Colorado State University.  While at CSU, he led the Rams to their first National Tournament at the ACHA Division 1 level, he was named the Coach of the Year in the Western Collegiate Hockey League and was nominated for the ACHA National Coach of the Year award.

Prior to coaching in the college ranks, DeGree held various leadership roles with the Minneapolis Youth Hockey Association.  His positions included Director of Coaching, where he was responsible for overseeing the selection, placement, development, and training of over 200 coaches in an association with over 700 youth players.  He also coached at every age level.   

DeGree also served as Head Scout for the Minnesota Magicians (NAHL) and as a regional scout for the current Clark Cup champion Sioux City Musketeers (USHL).
DeGree is a retired attorney who lives in Minneapolis, where he and his wife, Andrea, raised two boys, Max (Hamline ‘22) and Bruno.
