Katy Vandam is in her second season as Hamline University head swimming & diving coach in 2022-23.

"I am thrilled to be at Hamline University as the head men's and women's swimming & diving coach.," said Vandam. "Hamline swimming & diving has a rich history, and I am honored to become a part of that and lead the program."

Vandam arrived to Hamline after one season as the head boy's swimming & diving coach at Minneapolis South/Washburn/Roosevelt High School. Prior to Minneapolis South/Washburn/Roosevelt, Vandam spent six seasons as the head boy's swimming & diving coach at Highland Park Senior High School from 2013-14 through 2018-19. Highland Park broke 15 school, and two St. Paul City Conference records over Vandam's tenure as head coach. Vandam also coached an NISCA All-American at Highland Park. Simultaneously, Vandam spent four seasons as the Highland Park girl's swimming & diving coach, where she coached five school, and two St. Paul City Conference records.

Vandam began her coaching career with summer programs in Albuquerque, New Mexico before she transitioned to her first high school coaching position at Sandia Prep (N.M.), where she led the boy's swimming & diving team to second place at the New Mexico Activities Association (NMAA) State Meet with just four qualifiers.

Vandam was inducted into the Minnesota Master's Swimming Hall of Fame in 2020.
