Jarred Sampson

Jarred Sampson joined the Hamline track and field coaching staff in September of 2020, and works primarily with the men’s and women’s sprinters and high jumpers. Sampson is a 2000 graduate of Hamline University where he earned his degree in Anthropology with minors in Elementary Education and Coaching.
 
Sampson brings a wide range of coaching experience with him back to his alma mater after having coached at Como Park, Concordia-St. Paul, and Augsburg.
 
At Como Park, Sampson was named the St. Paul City Conference Track and Field Coach of the Year in 2005, while also being named the conference’s Cross Country Coach of the Year in 2003.
 
After Como Park, Sampson was named the head coach for the men’s and women’s track and field programs at Concordia-St. Paul, serving in this role for seven seasons, while also working as an assistant cross country coach. During his tenure with the Golden Bears, Sampson coached 31 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) champions, one NCAA Division II national championship automatic qualifier, and 38 NCAA national championship provisional qualifiers. While coaching at Concordia, Sampson was also an adjunct professor in the Kinesiology department.
 
At Augsburg, Sampson was an assistant coach during the 2012-13 season before taking over the program as interim head coach from January 2014 to May 2015. During his time coaching the Auggies, his athletes achieved 17 All-MIAC performances, eight MIAC championships, and two NCAA DIII All-Americans.
 
Sampson currently works at Hamline University as the program coordinator in the center for academic success and achievement. He resides in St. Paul with his wife and their two sons.
