Megan Evans brings extensive collegiate and private coaching experience to Hamline, having mentored distance runners across the NCAA Division II, Division III, and NAIA levels. Most recently, she served as the head distance coach at Lake Erie College, where she guided runners to historic individual conference finishes. Prior to Lake Erie, Evans served as a coach at Grove City College, helping lead the cross country programs to three conference runner-up finishes and a men’s conference championship in 2017.

Evans’s collegiate coaching career also includes coaching positions at the University of the Cumberlands and Concordia University Chicago. Throughout her coaching career, her athletes have combined for 53 school records, 23 individual conference titles, eight national qualifiers, and an NAIA All-American honor. Evans has also developed expertise in periodized strength and conditioning programs, with a focus on athlete development and injury prevention. Since 2019, she has additionally served as a private coach with Team RunRun, working with youth and adult runners to achieve personal bests, half-marathon victories, and Boston Marathon qualifications.

Before beginning her coaching career, Evans established herself as an accomplished collegiate and high school runner. She competed at the University of Minnesota, where she was a varsity letter winner, competed in four Big Ten Track and Field Championships, and contributed to four Big Ten team titles across cross country and track. She also received the cross country Coaches Award from Gary Wilson and recorded the program’s fastest outdoor 800-meter time during the 2012 season.

A standout at Eden Prairie High School, Evans won state titles in the 800-meter and 4x800-meter relay, earned eight MSHSL Class AA All-State honors, and received Nike Outdoor Nationals All-American honors in the 4xMile. Her high school accomplishments also earned her the Athena Award and induction into the Eden Prairie Track/Cross Country Hall of Fame.
