Alyssa Grogan is a native of Eagan, Minnesota and is in her fifth season as the Pipers’ volunteer goalie coach during the 2024-25 academic year.

At Eagan High School, Grogan was a five-time All-Conference goaltender and a three-time All-State selection. In 2008 she was named the Let's Play Hockey Senior Goalie of the Year. During her senior year she was selected to play for the US Women's Under-18 National Team that earned a Gold Medal in the 2008 World Championships. 
 
Grogan played collegiately at the University of Minnesota where she was the 2009 WCHA Goaltending Champion. Academically, she was a four-time member of the WCHA All-Academic Team, and in 2012 she was a nominee for the Hockey Humanitarian Award. Grogan was a part of two WCHA Championship teams and won an NCAA National Championship in 2012. 
 
After graduation, Grogan joined the Teach for America program which led her to Tampa Bay, Florida where she coached the past four seasons with the Tampa Bay Lightning Youth Organization. Grogan is also a scout for the USA Hockey Player Development Program.
