The 2024-25 season will be Demo Murdakes's third with the Hamline University track & field teams.
Prior to arriving at Hamline, Demo served as an assistant horizontal jumps and sprints coach at the Academy of Holy Angels in Richfield. While at Holy Angels he helped coach two individual Girl's AA State Champions, three additional Girl's AA All-State performances, two Boy's AA All-State performances, and one school record.
The Holy Angels track and field program accumulated the 2021 men’s team conference championship, the 2022 women’s team conference championship, the 2021 women’s True Team Section 4AA Championship, and the 2022 women’s team third-place finish at the MSHSL AA Championship during Demo’s time as an assistant.
Demo competed at the University of St. Thomas from 2019-2022. While at St. Thomas, he earned Academic All-MIAC honors during the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons. He was a member of the 2019-20 Indoor MIAC Championship team, and the 2020-21 MIAC Outdoor Championship team. He was also a member of St. Thomas’s Inaugural Division I team in 2021-22.
He graduated from St. Thomas in 2022 with a degree in business administration and data analytics. He currently works at Hamline University as an associate gift officer in the Office of Institutional Advancement.
