Tom Larson broke from the starting blocks fast in the season's first outdoor meet. The junior won the 100 and 200 Meter races last Saturday to help the Pipers to a second place finish at the SJU Invitational. Larson's time of 11.2 seconds is the 26th best performance in the country in the young outdoor season. He edged out Concordia's Ben Vickstrom twice, winning the 100 by .148 seconds and the 200 by .13.

Later on the same meet, Tom teamed with Derrick Mora, Jordan Lein and Freddie Galloway for a victory in the 4 x 100 Relay. The Pipers' timing of 42.77 beat the host school by 1/3 of a second.

Larson's next outing will be on familiar grounds. He and the Pipers will compete in the annual Hamline Invite at Klas Field on Saturday, April 11.
