Thomas Wolfe was wrong. You can go home again. At least to your home state.

Just ask Hamline freshman softball catcher Aubree Douglas.

The San Jacinto, California native swung a heavy stick for HU during a week long series of games against schools in the Los Angeles area. HU won four of 10 games played and will take a 7-7 overall record into its MIAC opening doubleheader April 2 at Carleton.

Douglas is one of the reasons why. She enters conference play on a six-game hitting streak with an overall average of.357. She had two hits in each of her final three games.

The first year backstop is showing power with eight doubles and a home run to her credit. In her current streak, Aubree has raised her batting average nearly 100 points.

Aubree started fast, getting three hits in her first game as a collegian against Martin Luther. She was held to three in her next six games but then busted loose near the end of the trip to her home state. In addition to making good contact, Aubree has had a sharp eye at the plate. She has walked six times this spring and has fanned just once in her last 21 at bats.
