It was one of the most impressive opening games in Hamline's glorious men's basketball history. Although he didn't start, junior Connor Knutson played a big role in the Pipers' 106-72 win over Northwestern November 15 at Hutton Arena. Knutson came off the bench gunning. He connected on five of six three point attempts for a game high 15 points to lead the best HU offensive effort in six seasons.

The Forest Lake, Minn. native also added an assist and a rebound as the Pipers overwhelmed the Eagles with a 66.7 shooting performance from the floor. When he was a freshman, he stepped into the lineup when Dylan See-Rockers was sidelined with an injury and nearly a dozen points a game.

His performance against Northwestern gives him 52 career three-pointers in 43 games.

The Pipers open MIAC play Wednesday, November 29 at Carleton (7 p.m.). They return home to Hutton Arena to face St. Thomas on Saturday, December 2. Game time is 1:00 p.m.
