Shawny Kramer put the hammer down on the field at last week's MIAC Track & Field Championships. Kramer threw the hammer 170-4 to repeat as champion in the event . Her margin of victory was impressive. She was nearly 17 feet better than the second place finisher. It was part of a busy weekend for the sophomore. She took fourth place in the discus with a 129-7 effort. She missed third place ... and a second All-Conference honor ... by just six inches. Last year, she made her first appearance at a NCAA meet when she took part in the hammer. This year, she is going back with a two-fold mission. She currrently ranks No. 11 in the hammer and No. 19 in the discus among all D-III throwers.
