One of the reasons for the success of the Piper women's hockey team is they get goals from  forwards and their defenders. 

In the latter category, Dani Wright quickly comes to mind.  The junior blueliner had quite a week with two goals and three assists as HU defeated Concordia, 10-0 and 2-1 to stretch their current unbeaten streak to 15 games and improve their overall standard to 17-1-3. 

On Friday, the Farmington, Minn. native had a goal and three assists as HU grabbed an early lead and never let the Cobbers up for air. 

Saturday was a different matter. Wright's power play goal midway in the second period severed a 1-all tie and proved to be the difference. it was her second game winner of the season. Wright now leads all MIAC defenders with six goals and 12 assists for 18 points. 

The No. 5 rated Pipers take on St. Mary's this weekend. The teams are at TRIA Rink on Friday, February 8 for a 7:00 p.m. game. They face off in Winona the next afternoon at 4:00 p.m.
