Sam Greeney-Hamlin (pictured) recorded 18 kills and Steph Kaup added 13 as Hamline broke away from a 1-all and defeated Macalester, 3-1, Friday night. The win was the Pipers' first in eight MIAC tries and their 18th overall - giving them the most wins by a HU volleyball outfit since 1995.
Michelle Mattke had nine digs, Lynsey Reimer came up with eight and Becka Mozes dealt 30 assists for Hamline.
The Pipers got off to a good start, stretching a 17-12 into a 25-22 victory in the first set. The Scots evened matters with a 19-25 decision. The third set rocked back and forth and was tied when Mattke came up with two service aces to lead her team to a 25-22 win. In the fourth set, HU had a 17-14 lead and then broke away on a 8-1 run for a 25-15 win that ended the evening.
