Can lightning hit the same spot twice? The Piper men's soccer team hopes so. The last time they played at Paterson Field, Hamline marched away with a 3-2 win over previously undefeated Buena Vista. The Pipers face another power this time with a lot more on the line ... namely, an elusive first conference victory.
St. Thomas is the one team in the MIAC with a spotless league mark (3-0-0, 6-2-2 overall). The Tommies visit Paterson Saturday at 1:00 p.m. to face a HU team that is 2-7-1 overall (0-4 in the MIAC). But both of the Piper triumphs have come on the home sod. Overall, HU is 2-2-1 at home. With five of the next six matches on their home pitch, the Pipers approach the second half of the season looking to extend that record.
Game time is 1:00 p.m. A live stats link is available on the front page of the website.
The Pipers then get a week off before resuming action October 6 at St. Mary's.
