1/19/2013 7:52:00 PM

Box Score The Piper men's basketball team started slow and simply couldn't catch up to Carleton saturday afternoon at Hutton Arena.

Hamline fell into a 26-point first half deficit and took a 94-66 loss to the Knights. Dior Ford was the long HU player in double figures with 19 points.

Austin Johnson scored his team's first six points and gave Hamline its only lead of the day at 6-5. The Knights responded with a 14-4 run and went on to a 51-25 halftime edge.

HU came out with authority early in the second half. Bennett Cooper (pictured) connected on three jumpers and, in a span of just three and half minutes, the margin was just 15 at 47-42. The Knights, however, regrouped to scored the next 12 points. Hamline fell to 6-10 overall, 3-8 in the MIAC.

They play three times next week, starting with a game at St. Mary's Monday at 7:30 p.m.
