Women's Soccer Unleashes 35 Shots In 0-0 Tie

10/26/2013 4:59:00 PM

Box Score Some days, the ball just won't go into the net. Such was the case for the HU women's soccer Saturday. They unloaded a season high 35 shots, 22 of which landed on goal. But they couldn't dent BU goalie Micale Jensen and had to settle for their double OT scoreless tie of the season.

Eden Behrens had seven shots and the trio of Corinne Henning, Malya Hirshkowitz and Nicole Verdoorn had four each to pace Hamline, which has lost just once in six games. The Pipers are 7-6-3 overall and 4-4-1 in the MIAC.

On the other end, Erin Urbanowicz was solid again, earning her fourth shutout of the season with seven saves.

HU led in every statistical category of the game, including a whopping 14-1 margin in corner kicks. After enjoying a 28-7 edge in the first 90 minutes of play, HU had seven more shots in the two overtimes.

The Pipers wrap up the season next week with a game at St. Mary's October 30 and a home finale against Gustavus Adolphus Nov. 2.
