Dior Ford returned to his old scoring form. The junior registered 17 points in the Pipers' 75-52 loss at St. Thomas Wednesday night.
The Pipers handled the Tommies well on the boards (each team had 29), went 8-for-17 from three-point range and hit12 of 16 free throw tries. But they shot a season low 38.1 per cent from the field.
Hamline got off to a sluggish start, trailing 14-4 after five minutes of play. HU then found its footing, cutting the lead to six at one point. But the Tommies went on a late run to hold a 37-22 edge at halftime.
Ford hit on all seven of his free throw attempts and is now 23-for-26 this season. He leads all MIAC shooters with a .885 percentage from the line.
The Pipers finish this hectic stretch of five games in 10 days with their longest bus trip of the season this Saturday. They play at Concordia in a 3:00 p.m. game.
