Box Score Dior Ford had a hot hand on a cold Wednesday night. Unfortunately, so did Gustavus Adolphus.
Â
Ford scored 25 points to lead all scorers but the Gusties shot 59 per cent for the night to defeat the Pipers, 80-62, in the conference opener for both teams at Hutton Arena.
Â
Ford was the lone Piper in double digits. He connected on 10 of 15 from the field and five of six from the free throw line. But the visitors came out gunning, hitting seven of 11 three pointers to grab a 41-27 halftime edge. The Pipers were able to work the deficit to eight points at 59-51 with 8:47 left in the second half. But GAC scored six of the next eight points and was never headed again.
Â
Hamline (2-2 overall) now heads for its first road game of the year Saturday, December 7 at Carleton. Game time is 3:00 p.m.Â
