It's not the role they would prefer to play. It's a lot more fun to be on the other side of the ledger. But the Piper men's basketball team finds itself in the role of spoiler asd it starts the final week of the season with a game at Bethel, Wednesday, Feb. 13.
Game time at Robertson Center is 7:30 p.m.
The Royals (9-9 MIAC) are tied with St. John's for sixth place -- the final playoff spot. A HU victory would seriously harm their postseason hopes. (The Johnnies are hosting 10th place St. mary's tonight.)
To achieve that, Hamline will have to find to corral center Taylor Hall, who scored 28 points and added 13 rebounds as the Royals won at Hutton Arena, 78-62 a month ago.
But the news wasn't all bad for the Pipers that night.
Wesley Pinera (pictured), the talented freshman guard, offered a sign of what may be in the future with a solid game, scoring a career high 15 points against the Royals.
Hamline finishes the season at Carleton Saturday.
