Box Score They put up a strong defensive front all afternoon. Unfortunately for the Hamline men's soccer team, so did their opponents. The Pipers came very close to handing Macalester a defeat for the first time since 2007. But the Scots scored a late goal to take a hard fought 1-0 decision at Paterson Field Saturday afternoon.

The Pipers held the edge in shots on goal with a 5-2 margin.  Both teams attacked hard but gave ground grudgingly. The shots that did make it through, however, severely tested both Mac's Zeke Vainer and the Pipers' Joey Matesi (pictured making a first half save) . Marko Doder had two shots on goal with Jake Niemann, Pat Hager and Nick Simondet getting one each for Hamline. 

HU fell to 3-4-0 overall and 0-2 in the MIAC. They get eight days off to rest before traveling to Wartburg for a non-conference match.
