Box Score

The Hamline volleyball team did something that no other MIAC team had done this year -- take a game from Augsburg. But the No. 21 rated Auggies came back for a 3-1 victory to snap the Pipers' two-game winning streak.

Stephanie Kaup had an impressive second game to lead HU with 12 kills. Sam Greeney-Hamlin added nine kills and hit a solid .348. Michelle Mattke and Caitlyn Gottwald also had eight.

Molly Hurrle (white headband) continued to thrive in the setup role with 42 assists. Hurrle still hasn't played in enough matches to get officially ranked. If she had, she would be third inthe league with 10.64 assists per set.

Lynsey Reimer was all over Si Melby Hall with a season high 22 digs and Mattke added 11. Reimer ranks 5th in the MIAC with 265 and a 4.82 digs per set average.

After the Auggies won the opening salvo 17-25, the Pipers snapped their 15-set winning streak with a 25-21 decision in Game 2. The Auggies then claimed 21-25 and 15-25 decisions to stretch their winning skein to 11 in a row. They stand 15-2 overall, 4-0 in the MIAC.

The Pipers dropped to 9-7 overall. Their 2-2 MIAC mark is good for fifth place after two weeks of play.

HU returns to Hutton Arena Wednesday to face Macalester in a 7 p.m. match. Next weekend, they will play in a tournament at Colorado College.
