Box Score For 20 minutes, the Hamline men's basketball team had powerful Gustavus Adolphus where they wanted them. A late surge got the Pipers to within a basket at 26-24.
Early in the second half,
Dior Ford, who led all scorers with 16 points, hit a three-pointer to give Hamline a 29-28 lead.
But the Gusties responded with a 15-5 run to take a nine point lead and pulled away late to earn a 65-44 decision in St. Peter.
In addition to Ford's totals (which pushed him within four points of 900 for his career),
Austin Johnson added nine.
Bennett Cooper (a career high 10) and Johnson (nine) led a strong rebounding effort that saw the Pipers collect 30 to the Gusties' 32.
Hamline, which fell to 7-9 overall (4-7 MIAC), returns home Saturday to face Carleton at Hutton Arena. Game time is 3:00 p.m.
