Box Score Hamline's volleyball team ran into some big problems Friday night at Bethel. In particular, a 6-2 middle blocker named Tegan LaBerge proved tough to get around in a 3-0 setback to the Royals at Robertson Center.

HU (12-8 overall, 4-4 MIAC) was able to take the early lead in all three sets. In the opener, there were 10 ties and five lead changes before the Royals pulled away at the end for a 25-21 decision. It was tight most of the way in the middle set as well. BU, however, ended up winning by the same score. The Pipers again charged to a lead in third set only to see LaBerge and the taller Royals take charge in a 25-15 decision.

Caitlyn Gottwald (1) had eight kills to lead the HU offense. Vassi Prattas had 15 assists and Lynsey Reimer led the back wall with 18 digs. (Julia Zolnosky added 10).

Hamline will have to have bounce back quickly. The Piper face MIAC co-leader St. Thomas Saturday at Hutton Arena.

Game time is 5:00 p.m.
