Box Score Hamline's seven women's soccer seniors left Paterson Field smiling. In their final home game, the Pipers used two late first half goals by
Corinne Henning andÂ
Lolly Higa to defeat St. Mary's 2-0.Â
All seven seniors (from left to right:Â
Nicole Verdoorn, Aileen Scheibner, Kristen Berry, Rachel Cervantez, Kristen Berry, Henning,Â
Erin Urbanowicz) saw considerable action as HU outshot the Cardinals, 11-7 and controlled  much of the play on a chilly afternoon.Â
The game remained scoreless until Henning finished off a three-way play for her third goal of the season at 39:11. Verdoorn started the play with a pass toÂ
Malya Hirshkowitz. In turn, Hirshkowitz sent a long shot towards the goal that Henning redirected into the net for a 1-0 lead. With just five seconds left in the half, Higa capped the offense for the day with her first collegiate goal on a feed fromÂ
Alicia Williams. Urbanowicz took it from there, making three saves for her third shutout of the season and eighth of her HU career.
The win pushed the Pipers back over the .500 mark for the season at 8-7-2. The Pipers need a tie or a victory Saturday at Gustavus Adolphus (1-13-3, 0-8-2 MIAC) to record their fourth consecutive winning season. Game time in St. Peter is 1:00 p.m.
