Box Score They broke through first but the HU men's soccer team couldn't hold on and dropped a 3-1 decision in their MIAC opener at St. John's Wednesday afternoon. 

Gilbert Ghong (pictured) continued to have the hot foot, convering a header for his team leading fourth goal of the season at 51:48. Ghong picked up a loose ball in the box and drilled it home to give the Pipers the edge early in the second half.

But the Johnnies kept after HU goalie Derrick Mora and tid the game three minutes later. SJU then converted a corner kick to grab the lead and added a goal with seven seconds left in the game. Mora recorded seven saves as Hamline fell to 3-3-1 overall. Ghong had three of the Pipers' five shots on goal. Abbai Habte had the other two.

Hamline returns to action Saturday at Macalester. Game time is 1:00 p.m.
