Men's Soccer Pepper Scots With Plenty Of Shots

9/20/2014 4:31:00 PM

Box Score Hamline's men's soccer team shot .. and shot ... and shot  ... all day at Macalester. Unfortunately, the scots found a way to knock balls aside all day to claim a 2-0 win Saturday. Each team had 15 shot attempted and six on goal. Macalester's Austin Burrows had the shots that mattered, scoring once in each half on HU tender Jonas Warlich.

Abbai Habte had five shots and Michael Ramirez (pictured) added three for Hamline, which fell to 3-4-1 overall, 0-2-0 in the MIAC. Both had two shots on goal as well. HU also had a 5-4 edge in penalty kicks.

Burrows scored nine minutes into the game to give Mac the lead. In the second half, the Pipers unloaded 13 shots and recorded all five corners. However, the Scots ducked and weaved out of trouble all afternoon.

HU returns to action Wednesday with a non-conference game against UW-Superior at Patterson Field. Game time is 4:00 p.m.
