Box Score The HU volleyball team dug in hard against Concordia Wednesday night, recording 70 digs. But they struggled at times on offense and dropped a 3-0 decision to the Cobbers in Moorhead.
The Pipers had four players in double digits for digs with
Micki Green (pictured, No. 10) and
Lynsey Reimer leading the way with 17 apiece.
Jamie Rubbelke had 13 and
Amelia Jensen, who also had 24 assists, had a dozen.
Jena Meyer led the offense with eight kills and
Gabriella Feldt chipped in with seven. For the night, though, Hamline hit .094 while Concordia came in at .178.
The Pipers started well. The first set was tied four different times and HU trailed just 19-17 when CC ran four straight points and claimed a 25-19 win. The Cobbers took charge early in the middle set for a 25-15 decision. Things changed in the third set. Meyer had four kills as HU grabbed an early lead, stretching it to six at 17-11. CC then mounted a rally and came back for a 26-24 win and the sweep.
Hamline fell to 9-3 overall, 1-1 in the MIAC. They stay on the road with a match at St. Olaf on Saturday. Game time is 3:00 p.m.
