Box Score The Hamline volleyball team got their offense going  in style Saturday at St. Olaf. The Pipers hit a solid .219 for the day -- and a blistering .353 in the second set -- en route to a 3-0 win at Northfield.Â
Jena Meyer led the attack squad with 14 kills and
Steph Kaup (pictured) registered the fourth best hitting percentage in a game in Piper history when she finished at .692 (10 kills, 1 error in 13 attempts) as HU won by scores of 25-22, 25-12, 25-23. Â
Amelia Jensen had 32 assists andÂ
Lynsey Reimer passed the 1,500 mark for career digs with 22.Â
The three-point margin was the widest either team had in the competitive opening game. HU, however, opened it late in the middle battle, scoring 10 of the final 12 points to take charge of the match. The Oles, however, didn't go quietly. They rallied from a seven-point deficit to cut the HU lead to 24-23 before Kaup recorded the last kill to end the match.
With the win,Â
HU moved north of the .500 mark in MIAC play with a 2-1 standard and now sits 10-3 overall. They are off until October 3 when they host Gustavus Adolphus at Hutton Arena. Game time is 7:00 p.m.Â
