VB Runs Into Blazer Buzzsaw

Box Score The HU volleyball team ran into a hot-hitting St. benedict team that refused to let up. The Pipers dropped a 3-0 decision to the Blazers by scores of 25-16, 25-14, and 25-13.

Julia Zolnosky inched closer to the 300 kill mark for the year with nine winners. She leads the Pipers and remains second in the MIAC with 294 kills for the season. She also stands second in Kills per Set at 4.32. Amelia Jensen had eight assists and also topped the back line with nine digs.

In each of the first two sets, HU fell into an early hole and couldn't climb out. 

They reversed form int he third set, grabbing an early 5-1 lead but the Blazers (13-6 overall, 5-2 MIAC) came back to grab the lead at 9-8 and kept the pressure on the Pipers all night.

Hamline is now 9-11 overall, 2-5 in the MIAC. HU takes a break from conference play this weekend when they face Loras (12:00 p.m.) and Simpson (3:00 p.m.) in an one-day tournament in St. Peter this Saturday.
