A Home Finale To Remember

Box Score They saved one of their best performances of the year for their last home match. It was Senior Day at Hutton Arena. Before the game, Jamie Rubbelke, Micki Green, Michelle Mattke and Vassi Prattas (pictured l to r) were honored by head coach Becky Egan (middle) and their teammates. Then the Pipers went out and hit a lusty .273 in a 3-1 victory over St. Olaf. 

Julia Zolnosky had a game high 24 kills and hit .311. That moved her back into second place in the conference in Kills per Set at 4.25 and Kills at 353. Beth Goodman added 11 and Jena Meyer chipped in with 10. Amelia Jensen distributed 34 assists with Prattas adding 19. Jensen added 10 digs for a double-double. Green led all back courters with 26 digs and Rubbelke was close behind with 21. 

The Pipers improved to 11-13 overall (3-6 MIAC) by winning the first two sets, 26-24 and 25-19. The Oles claimed a 22-25 decision but the jumped to a 3-0 lead in the fourth set and kept the pressure all the way for a 25-26 win. 

Hamline finishes the season on the road next week at Gustavus Adolphus (Oct. 28) and at St. Catherine (Oct. 30).
