Zolnosky, Mattke Garner MIAC Postseason Honors

Julia Zolnosky, the hard hitting junior who ranked consistently among the top five in the MIAC in two departments all season, has been named to the league's All-Conference team. The voting is done by the league's coaches. The junior ranks third in the MIAC in Kills (386) and Kills Per Set (4.24). The Brooklyn Park, Minn. native was also second in the conference in Total Attacks with 1184.

Zolnosky (second from right)came out swinging from the start of the year. She registered 41 kills on he first day of the season (when the Pipers hosted Bethany Lutheran and St. Scholastica) and rarely let up. She was in double digits for kills in 22 of the team's 26 matches. She also did yeoman's work on the back line, recording 287 digs (second most on the team). She had a season high 24 (along with 22 kills) in an impressive 3-1 win over Ripon, Sept. 12. Zolnosky finished with 10 double-doubles, including four in the final five matches of the year. 

Michelle Mattke, a senior, was named to the conference's Sportsmanship team. The Owatonna, Minn. native (16) struggled with injuries early in the season. She recovered to appear in 16 matches, recording 100 kills and 92 digs. She, too, was her sharpest at the end of the year, with four double digit dig efforts in her final five matches. 

Hamline finished the season 11-15 overall.
