It was a beautiful day for a run. And, boy, did Hamline's
Nathan Rock (pictured) take advantage of it. The Inver Grove Heights, Minn. senior finished fourth in a field of 153 runners to lead the Piper cross country team to a sixth place overall finish at the annual Roy Griak Invitational Maroon competition held at the U of Minnesota Saturday.
Rock negotiated the 8K terrain in a sparkling time of 27:12.5. He was the second MIAC runner across the finish line. He was followed by teammates
James Logan (17th, 28:05.2),
Ronnie Stimson (26th, 28:34.5),
Tony Duchenes (48th, 29:24.7) and
Anthony Paladie (57th, 29:56.1). Hamline's total of 152 points bested, among other teams, fellow MIAC entry Macalester, in the 15 team D-III field.
