Box Score Wrong place, wrong time. Such was the case Wednesday for the Hamline volleyball team that had the misfortune of running into a St. Thomas team that had lost its first three home matches. UST came out swinging, hitting .309 for the night in a 3-0 decision over the Pipers at Anderson Center.
Vassi Prattas (6) had a season high 13 assists and
Micki Green added 17 digs. Offensively,
Jena Meyer and
Marisa Franco led the Hamline offensive attack with seven kills each.
HU got off to a slow start, dropping the first two sets by 10-25 and 13-25. They perked up in the third set, chasing the Tommies consistently before falling by a 19-25 count.
The Pipers fell to 7-8 overall, 1-3 in the MIAC. They return to action Saturday, Oct. 3 as the capper to Homecoming activities with a 5:00 p.m. match against Bethel (11-6, 1-2) at Hutton Arena.
