Box Score The tallest Piper volleyballer led the way Saturday at Bethel.
Beth Goodman, who (along with
Cass Bittle), tops all the Pipers at 6-1, had nine kills to pace the Piper offense in a 3-0 loss at Bethel. The junior was the team's top hitter with a .208 mark but the Royals took command early and held off the Pipers by 25-6, 25-28, 25-18 margins.
Morgen Coleman offered 20 assists with
Amelia Jensen adding 17 digs and
Marisa Franco contributing a dozen.
HU was battling from behind most of the night. In the second set, HU shook off an early deficit to get within five at 20-15. Hamline jumped ahead early in the third set by a 9-6 margin but the Royals used a 7-1 run to snake away the lead and held off the Pipers from there.
Hamline is now 6-7 overall, 1-4 in the MIAC. They are off until Friday, October 7 when they play at Macalester. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
