Isaacson Strong In M Soccer Scoreless Tie

10/12/2016 6:29:00 PM

Box Score Officially, Hamline sophomore men's soccer goalie Dean Isaacson recorded three saves in the Pipers' 0-0 tie at Carleton Wednesday. The unofficial number was higher -- and played a key role in the Pipers' first scoreless tie in a conference game in four years.

Isaacson broke up several Knight scoring chances by getting in the way and intercepting crossing passes. The St. Paul, Minn. native earned his fifth complete game shutout and lowered his GAA to 0.73.  The deadlock improved the Pipers' overall record to 7-4-2. They are 1-3-2 in MIAC play.

The Knights held a 12-5 edge in total shots in the 110 minutes of action. Each team had two shots on goal in the first 45 minutes. Adam King had both of HU's shots and finished the game with three overall.

But neither team could find the back of the net. It was the first scoreless deadlock for Hamline in a MIAC game since October 23, 2012 at St. John's.

Hamline now heads back to Paterson Field for four of the final games of the season. First up: Augsburg on Saturday, October 15. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
