Box Score Arendje Louter is getting hot at the right time. The sophomore scored for the second straight game but Augsburg rallied for a late goal and pinned a 2-1 setback on the Pipers before large crowd at Paterson Field Saturday.
Amy Ramras was the hardluck loser in goal. The senior recorded a season high 11 saves, including a spectacular, full body length dive across the net to stop a shot but suffered the defeat as HU fell to 8-5-1 overall and 3-4-1 in the MIAC.
The Auggies (11-2, 6-1) controlled much of the action in the first half, taking a 1-0 lead at the 37-minute mark. It stayed that way until Louter hustled up the left side, deftly faked a defender to the ground and then found the far corner of the net for her sixth goal of the season. Both teams had opportunities but the game stayed stuck at 1 until the visitors scored with 90 seconds remaining.
Louter had three of the Pipers' five shots (four on goal) for the game. Ramras' 11 saves gave her 154 for her career at HU, the fourth best total in school history.
HU returns to the field Tuesday, October 18 when they travel to New Ulm to face Martin Luther in a 3:30 p.m. start. They return to MIAC play with a key match against St. Benedict on Saturday, October 22 at Paterson Field. Game time is 1:00 p.m.
