M Soccer Falls In Rain at Bethel

Box Score The Hamline men's soccer outshot Bethel but couldn't find the net in a 2-0 loss in the rain Tuesday at Ona Orth Complex in Arden Hills. The Pipers held an overall 10-7 edge in shots on goal and a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks but fell to 9-5-2 overall, 3-4-2 in the MIAC.

Ben Sorenson was the top marksmen for Hamline with three shots, two of which landed on net. Dean Isaacson had two saves in goal for the Pipers. 

Despite the loss, the Pipers still have a shot at the MIAC playoffs. St. Olaf and St. John's are tied for fifth place with 13 points. Hamline and Augsburg stand next with 11 points. The Auggies finish at league champ St. Thomas. There3 are several scenarios whereHU can possibly return to the postseason for the second consecutive season. All of them,. however, require the Pipers to win the game outright on Saturday.  Game time at Paterson Field is 3:30 p.m.
