Box Score Oscar Campbell has always been considered a heads up player. He proved to be so again Saturday at Paterson Field when he redirected an
Adam King corner kick to help the Hamline men's soccer team to a 1-1 double OT tie with St. Mary's.
The Pipers improved to 7-4-1 overall and 1-3-1 in the MIAC with the draw.
HU controlled much of the play and held a 17-8 edge in total shots and a 9-2 margin in corner kicks. But neither team could find the goal until Campbell stepped up for his second tally of the season at 77:46. The Cardinals responded with a PK goal four minutes later.
After that, the goalies -- Hamline's
Dean Isaacson and St. Mary's Nate Levy -- kept things even the rest of the way.
Hamline returns to action Wednesday at Carleton. Game time is 4:00 p.m.
