Parker Has Smashing Debut in Record-Setting WS Victory

9/1/2016 5:46:00 PM

Box Score Siri Parker (1) sure knows how to make an entrance. The freshman forward scored three goals and an assisted on a fourth in her college debut as the Hamline women's soccer team recorded one for the record books with a 10-1 win over Wis-Superior at Paterson Field Thursday afternoon. The Pipers scored five times in each half to hit double digits for just the third time in school history. The team record for goals in a game is 12, set against Knox in 2001. HU also scored 10 in a win over Bethany Lutheran in 2005.

Arendje Louter picked up where she left off in 2015 with two goals and an assist, Mallory Wirth, Malya Hirshkowitz, Kaley Roberts, Anna Futterer and Rachael Nelson also found the back of the net as part of Hamline's 22-2 edge in total shots. Amy Ramras recorded her 12th career victory in the net -- tying her with Erin Urbanowicz for fourth all-time on the HU list.

The Pipers stung the Yellowjackets in streaks. Parker's first goal at 25:30 capped a three goal outburst in 16 minutes. The Alaska native would team up with Futterer seven minutes apart late in the first half as Hamline took a 5-0 lead into the intermission. After giving up a UWS goal, HU replied with three tallies in a nine-minute segment to put the game out of reach. Parker's goal at 71:35 finished off her hat trick -- the first by a women's soccer player since Aileen Scheibner did it against Gustavus Adolphus in 2011. 25 seconds later, Parker fed Nelson for the last tally of the game.

The Pipers now head on the road for the next two games. HU travels to UM-Morris Saturday at 2:00 p.m. to take on the Cougars. The Pipers then go prime time with a 7:30 p.m. game on September 7 at Wis-Stout.
