Box Score The Hamline women's hockey team started fast but Concordia literally beat them at the buzzer Friday night at Oscar Johnson Arena. The Cobbers scored a split second before the end of the second period to break a 1-all tie and went on for a 3-1 victory.
Annie Juergens was terrific in goal for Hamline with 33 saves -- 16 in the second period alone. Unfortunately, the only offense the Pipers could muster came when
Zoey Lobejko tipped
Jena Kosley's point shot midway through the first period.
Darby Dodds had seven of Hamline's 24 shots on goal and
Dani Wright added five.
The Piper penalty killers were busy. They suffocated the first six CC power plays but was scored upon on the seventh one -- a goal with 1:01 to play that sealed the verdict.
Hamline is now 6-6-1 overall, 4-2-0 in the MIAC. They get another chance at the Cobbers Saturday afternoon at Oscar Johnson. Game time is 2:00 p.m.
