Box Score The back wall was busy -- and productive -- for the Hamline volleyball team Wednesday at Carleton. The Pipers averaged a remarkable 18.5 digs per match but dropped a 3-1 decision to the Knights.
Morgen Coleman (5) had a terrific double-double with 18 assists and 17 digs. She had a lot of help in the latter department as
Megan Anderson came up with 16,
Sammie Coffler contributed a dozen and
Megan Rubbelke added 10. (The freshman also had eight assists.)
Cass Bittle was the most productive Piper on the front line with a team high 11 kills.Â
HU had a rough start, dropping the first set, 25-13. But the Pipers came back hard, grabbed the lead early and never let up to record a 25-20 win and even the match at a set apiece. The Knights won the third set, 25-16, and then rallied from behind to take the fourth set, 25-20.
Hamline is now 3-20 overall, 0-7 in the MIAC. The Pipers get Homecoming started on Saturday, October 14 with a non-conference match against Wis-Stout. Game time at Hutton Arena is 10:30 a.m.
