Box Score The HU women's hockey team fell into an early hole and couldn't climb back out in a 7-2 loss at Augsburg Friday night. Darby Dodds and Jena Kosley scored for Hamline, which saw its school record five game MIAC winning streak come to an end. The loss knocked the Pipers into third place in the MIAC with a 9-4 record (11-8-1 overall). They trail second place Gustavus Adolphus by one point and are just two behind the league leading Auggies.

Augsburg grabbed a 3-0 first period lead and stretched it 5-0 in the first five minutes of the middle frame. The Pipers steadied themselves and started a comeback with Dodds' league-leading 15th goal of the season at 11:31. Seven minutes, Kosley netted her second and it was 5-2 after two periods. Emily Gunderson drew assists on both goals.

But the Auggies put the game away with two goals in the latter stages of the third periods. The Pipers held an edge in shots on  goal, 25-23. Dodds led the way with five atempts.

HU will get a quick chance to even the score Saturday. The teams face off at Oscar Johnson Arena at 2 p.m.
