Box Score On a cold Wednesday night outside, Hamline's men's basketball team ran into a very hot team inside. St. Thomas shot 60.7 per cent rom the field in the second half and pulled away to defeat the Pipers, 83-66 at Hutton Arena. UST has won eight games in a row and has a two-game lead over the pack in the MIAC.
But the game Pipers scored the final six points of th first half and trailed by only 39-33 at intermission. St. Thomas came out strong in the second half, holding a 10-rebound edge as well as the good shooting numbers to prevent the Pipers from sweeping them for the first time in 37 seasons.
Dylan See-Rockers led Hamline's balanced scoring attack with 11 points while
Ethan Scheuring (pictured) and
Isaac Brooks contributed 10 each. Brooks was also the top HU rebounder with five.
TC Robinson was the top ballhawk of the game with three steals. HU led that category by a 7-4 margin. The Pipers outscored UST by 21-10 in points off turnovers.
Hamline is now 12-10 overall, 9-8 in the MIAC. They stand in sixth place -- the final playoff spot and hold a half-game lead over St. Olaf, which has played one less game and is 8-8 in league play. HU faces Concordia, which is a half-game ahead of them in the standings at 9-7 on Saturday, February 11 in Moorhead. Game time is 3:00 p.m.
