Box Score It was the type of game where a team was going to need a break to find a way to knife through a scoreless draw. Unfortunately for the HU men's soccer team, the break went against them.

Macalester converted a penalty kick with 19:18 left in the second half and it was enough to sneak away with a 1-0 win in the conference opener for both teams at Macalester Stadium Wednesday night. HU goalie Dean Isaacson recorded five saves (including one an earlier penalty kick) as the Pipers dropped to 3-3 overall for the season.

Hamline placed five shots in the direction of the Scots net with Trevor Lewellen credited with the lone shot on target. 

The Pipers will look to get even Saturday, September 16 when they host Carleton (5-1, 1-0 MIAC) Saturday at Paterson Field. Game time is 1:00 p.m.
